Biography

Hon. (Barr.) Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi (born on March 19) is a Nigerian politician and civil rights activist who currently serve as the Federal Representative for Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency, Lagos, in the 10th National Assembly. He is a member of the Labour Party. He pursued his higher education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and Literary Studies. He furthered his education with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the same university.

ACITIVITIES

The followings are the motions Hon. Jesse-Joe Onuakalusi raised, so far:

Need to investigate the Non Adherence to the 2007 Procurement Act Guiding and regulating the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps.(NYSC).
Urgent need to check the abuse of the Use of Siren by Nigerians across the Nation that Constitute Public Menace and Nuisance.
Urgent need to Curb the rampaging Water hyacinth menaced on Jabi Lake Abuja, transform it into a Profitable and Tourist attraction for revenue generation in the Federal Capital Territory.
Need to awaken the Price Control Board of Nigeria to her responsibilities.
Need to investigate the bottlenecks inhibiting exportation at our Ports, especially edible and agricultural Produce.
Need to adopt the Naira as the Only medium of exchange for goods and Services within the Country and also still Counting.

An Act to Establish the Child Rights and Welfare Commission for the Protection of Children’s Right and other Related Matters thereto, 2023.
An Act to Establish Functional Library and E- Library in all the 774 Local Government Areas of Nigeria,
An Act to Establish National Mass Transit Scheme in Nigeria with the responsibility of Developing of efficient affordable and environment sustainable Mass Transit System that is crucial for the Economic growth , Social Well-being and ecological Presentation of Nigeria and for Related Matters thereto, 2023.
An Act to Establish National Constituency Projects Management Commission, 2023.
An Act to Establish Federal Capital Territory Orphanage Registration and Regulatory Agency, 2023.
An Act to Amend the Criminal Code Act Cap C38 Laws of the Federation (LFN) 2010 and for matters connected therewith, 2023.
An Act to amend the National Drugs law Enforcement Agency Act cap No, 30 Laws of the federation 2010, to provide for stiffer penalties for corporate Bodies for obstruction of the Agency on Authorized officer of the Agency And for matters connected therewith, 2023.
An Act to Establish the corporate social Responsibility Commission to provide for Related matters therein, 2023.
An Act to Establish accountability and Effective Governance practice for National Assembly Members in serving their constituents and Related Provisions therewith, 2023.
An Act to Alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Amended) and other matters, 2023 and Still Counting.
A bill for an act to repeal the Local Content Act of 2010 and to enact an Act to make it mandatory for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to give priority to local manufacturers and indigenous companies and to prohibit the exclusion of locally produced goods in the procurement process, and for other related matters, 2024.

PORTABLE WATER

Before Hon. (Barr.) Jesse Okey – Joe Onuakalusi was inaugurated in June, 2023 his Constituents have been facing the problem of water for consumption and domestic use. That was the first challenge that he tackled headlong by rehabilitating the BOREHOLE at Padana Street, beside Isolo Police Outpost, Isolo, two(2) other more rehabilitation and constructed a new one at #9, Anser Ur Deen Street, Ejigbo.

FLOOD

With the view to tackle the issue of persistent flooding of his Constituency, he swiftly invited and sponsored some experts (Engineers) from Ecological Fund Office who have come up with a report to finding a lasting solution to flooding of the areas.

SKILL ACQUISITION

Hon. (Barr.) Okey- Joe has sponsored Youths from his Constituency on Skill acquisition and still doing so.

EDUCATION

He has supplied and distributed books, desks and benches to so many public Schools in his Constituency.

EMPOWERMENT

Some Women and Youths have been empowered through some organized programs of Hon. (Barr.) Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi such as:-

Cooking competition for Oshodi/Isolo Women; and
Football tournament for Youths in his Constituency.

EMPLOYMENT

He has also thrived so well in the area of employment as so many people from his Constituency are in Private Organizations, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) and Government.
